WALKS AND REGISTRATIONS

This site will only take registrations for the FREE guided walk from Taronga to Balmoral being held in the Sydney Harbour National Park. For other walks, both in NSW and across the country, you should contact the relevent organisation or walk leader directly -contact details can be found by clicking on the side links.

The Sydney Harbour National Park has been chosen to showcase the Great Australian Bushwalk in NSW because it is readily accessible and provides an opportunity to 'Try Bushwalking' in a safe and fantastically picturesque environment.

The walk itself will take about 2.5 hours and hugs the coastline as it goes around stunning Bradley's Head on its way to Taylor's Bay. It then passes through historic Clifton Gardens before heading to the beach at Chowder Bay. From there you will pass Georges Head with it magnificent views of the harbour, and go through some of the best stands of Sydney Red Gum, before arriving at Balmoral - a great spot to grab a spot of lunch. By clicking on the map you can chart the route of the walk as well as read about the various points of interest along the way.

To get to the start of the walk we encourage using the ferry from Circular Quay to Taronga Zoo. Ferries leave every 20 minutes on the day and walks will start in conjunction with those arrival times. Start times for the walk will be staggered between 9 -10.30 am. At the end of the walk public transport options are numerous and frequent, both directly to the city, and back to Taronga Zoo. Check out the transport info line on www.131500.com for more details.

The walk leaders will meet you at the start of the walk which can be found opposite the lower entrance of Taronga Zoo - turn right out of the ferry terminal and you'll find our walk leaders waiting for you.

Fill out the registration form below in order to sign up for the walk and we'll see you on September 14th.

Please note that dogs are not allowed in the National Park and that the terrain is such that it is not possible to take prams on the walk.
